This book is a deep exploration of the Book of Hebrews, reflecting on the timeless relevance of its teachings. It’s a collection of sermons I wrote for Sunday mornings—so you may encounter some dated illustrations, raw phrasing, and honest reflections. That’s all part of the journey.
These sermons were written when I was fresh out of seminary, still finding my way in ministry. You might come across bold statements, simplified concepts, or even some conclusions I might reconsider today. I invite you to read with grace, understanding that this is part of my own growth process.
Throughout this collection, we explore why Jesus is greater—greater than angels, other saviours, religion, hobbies, pursuits, and even ourselves. We also dive into the difference between real and said faith, the importance of patience, and the meaning of sacrifice. The final chapters focus on how Jesus is greater than “me,” exploring themes like perseverance, faith, discipline, obedience, and choice.
While I may not have been as thorough with footnoting back then, I’ve done my best to track down sources where possible. If something sounds familiar and you know where it’s from, please reach out so I can update it.
My hope is that this collection glorifies God and serves His church. If you’ve struggled with your faith or wrestled with your relationship with Jesus, this book is for you. Let’s journey through Hebrews together and discover why Jesus truly is greater than anything else.
